Dr Block obtained his clinical and research training at the University of Michigan under the mentorship of Dr. Friedrich Port, Director of the USRDS. Since 1997, he has been engaged in private practice nephrology and has acted as Director of Clinical Research at Denver Nephrology. He has participated in the design and development of numerous pharmaceutical products related to the area of bone and mineral metabolism in CKD including phosphate binders, vitamin D analogs and calcimimetics.
