Fostrap is designed to benefit patients who have high blood levels of phosphorus (hyperphosphataemia) as a result of kidney malfunction or renal failure, or who suffer from Chronic kidney disease (CKD) and may benefit from lowering phosphorus levels under medical advice. Hyperphosphataemia is a prime cause of vascular calcification and may lead to patients suffering additional clinical complications in the form of heart disease, bone disease and joint problems.
