Colon cancer is the third most common cause of death worldwide. Its onset is frequently a progression from a pathology known as colon adenopolyposis. No successful pharmacological approach exists and colectomy still remains the main option.
CM&D Pharma's unique colon product Eviendep is targeted at the dietary management of polyps. Early data published in Carcinogenesis shows a protective effect of Eviendep and suggests its use as a 'potential approach against colorectal cancer development'. Clinical data was presented at the UEGW congress in Stockholm in October 2011, and launch in Italy followed soon afterwards.
